Oil Painting

Oil Painting meets on Thursdays from 10:00AM to 1:00PM and is led by instructor Kathryn Niles.

Kathryn is an artist and educator and an Adjunct Lecturer with Binghamton University. She is accomplished in Drawing, Printmaking and Painting. Kathryn has exhibited both nationally and internationally, with a number of solo exhibitions in the US and group exhibits outside the US. She is the recipient of many regional awards, including pastel painting at the National Arts Club and graphics at the Pen & Brush Gallery, both of NYC.

Shimmers, Shadows, and Shells The Art of Kathryn M. Niles, represents a career retrospective in the form of a collection of the artist’s work, through paintings, drawings, encaustic, sculpture and mixed media.  Niles shares her influences in saying: “From the reflections on water, to the shadows cast by vegetation and mountains, to the outer edges of objects; shimmers, shadows, and shells are evident in these images.”  In this book, award-winning artist Niles shares a huge collection of her work featuring pieces from her many years in the art world.

There is a $3.00 instructor fee for the Oil Painting Class.

Kathryn Niles also teaches a Drawing Class at the Center on Tuesdays.
