All our trips are open to the public so you don't have to be a member of the Johnson City Senior Center to join us! You also don't have to be a senior to join our trips. We've had children and grandchildren join us, depending on the trip.

If you are a member of our Center, you'll enjoy a $15 savings on any trip you're taking.

Penn’s Peak – Beach Boys Tribute

We’ll depart the Center at 9:00AM and travel to Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania for Penn’s Peak famous luncheon. There’s time to browse the gift shop before lunch.

After lunch, sit back and enjoy A Little Bit Diamond – Neil Diamond Tribute Show. Songs like “Sweet Caroline”, “Cracklin Rosie” and “America” are some of his best.

Cape Cod – 3-Nights

Monday, June 9 – Thursday, June 12, 2025

Day 1 June 9: We’ll leave the Center at 6:00AM and head for Point Judith, Rhode Island. We’ll meet our guide and take the ferry to Block Island. We’ll enjoy a Lobster Bake lunch (included) at the historic National Hotel. After lunch, there’ll be free time to explore the island and shop.

We’ll reboard the ferry to head back to the mainland and depart for Hyannis, Massachusetts and our hotel for the next two nights, Hyannis Harbor Hotel.

Day 2 June 10: Breakfast is included at our hotel this morning. We’ll meet our step-on guide and  travel to Sandwich to visit the Heritage Museums & Gardens. Our lunch (included) is at the historic Dan’l Webster Inn. After lunch, we’ll travel back to Hyannis for a narrated tour of the village area (including the church where JFK and Jackie were married) and a Hyannis Harbor Cruise. We’ll head back to our hotel for free time before going to dinner (included) at a local restaurant.

Day 3 – June 11: After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll meet our step-on guide and travel to Woods Hole, Massachusetts. We’ll then board the Steamship Authority Ferry to Martha’s Vineyard. Enroute to Edgartown, we’ll have a Down Island Tour. Lunch is on our own with $25 meal money. Our tour continues to Oak Bluffs and a walking tour of Cottage City. We’ll take the ferry back and enroute to our hotel, we’ll have dinner (included) at the Coonamessett Inn.

Day 4 – June 12: Breakfast is included at the hotel before our departure. We’ll meet our step-on guide and head for Plymouth, Massachusetts. Photo stops include the Forefathers Monument and Plymouth Rock. Boarding a Lobster Tales Cruise, we’ll learn all about the creatures that live in Plymouth Harbor. We’ll then have time to stroll the waterfront area and have lunch ($25 meal money). We’ll leave for home, with a fast food dinner stop and arrive at the Center at approximately 8:00PM.

9/11 Walking Tour

Join Lucy Baker and spend the day in New York City’s 9/11 area including Little Italy. We’ll depart the center at 7:00AM. When we get to the city, we’ll pick up our step-on guide and have lunch in Little Italy. Choices are: Chicken Piccata, Veal Marsala, Filet of Sole Oreganata or Eggplant Parmesan. Entrées come with vegetables and potatoes; we’ll have tiramisu for dessert.

After lunch, we’ll walk over to the World Trade buildings, see the Firefighter’s Memorial and the Survivor Tree. After saying goodbye to our guide, we’ll tour the 9/11 Memorial Museum on our own.

We’ll depart for home, stopping for dinner (on our own) and get back to the Center at approximately 9:30PM.

Singer Castle, 1000 Islands Boat Tour

Join Lucy Baker for a visit to the 1000 Islands and Singer Castle.

Depart the Center at 8:30AM. We’ll have a quick stop along the way and arrive in Alexandria Bay for shopping and lunch (on our own). We’ll then board the Uncle Sam Boat Tour and sail down river to Dark Island and Singer Castle, a four-story castle built in 1905. It has 28 rooms, a four-story tower, an elaborate boat house, and a two-story Ice House. After our self-guided tour, we’ll cruise to Alexandria Bay, board the bus and head home.

Enroute home, we’ll stop for dinner in Watertown (on our own) and return to the Center around 9:15PM.

Please note: Singer Castle is on top of a hill. It may be difficult walking for those with a cane or walker.

Price includes round-trip transportation, boat ride, admission to the castle and driver gratuity.

Cooperstown & Erie Canal

Join Debbie Isaak as you travel to Cooperstown and visit the Baseball Hall of Fame.

We’ll depart the Center at 7:30AM and head for Cooperstown. Upon arrival, we’ll see an introductory film. After the film, you’ll have time to find your favorite team to learn more about their history. If you’d rather explore the area, you can shop the stores along the main streets.

We’ll go to the Otesaga Resort for a buffet lunch then drive to Herkimer, NY for a boat ride on the Erie Canal. Before we leave for home, there’s time to shop the Gems Along the Mohawk gift shop.

Enroute home, we’ll stop in Oneonta for a fast food dinner (on our own) and return to the Center around 7:30PM.

Price includes round-trip transportation, Hall of Fame admission, buffet lunch, Erie Canal cruise and driver gratuity. This trip has a MAXIMUM OF 40 PASSENGERS so book early.

Seneca Lake Dinner Cruise

Adirondack Train & Old Forge Adventure

 Join our train enthusiast, Dorothy Blasko, for another trip on the Adirondack train to Old Forge. This has become so popular, it’s becoming an annual event.

We’ll depart the Center at 6:30AM and travel to Utica. We’ll go to Union Station and board the Adirondack Railroad. We’ll have First Class seating in a private car that includes a breakfast sandwich and beverage served by an attendant.

Upon arrival at Thendara Train Station, shuttles will take us into Old Forge. We’ll have time to shop, have lunch ($25 meal money included) and see the sights. We’ll then shuttle back to the train station and take the train back to Utica. Enjoy a beverage and hors d’oeuvres on our return to Union Station. We’ll reboard our bus and head for home getting back to the Center around 9:00PM.

Ohio Amish Tour – 3-Nights

Day 1 September 29: We’ll depart the Center at 7:30AM, stop briefly for a coffee break, then stop in Jamestown for lunch at the Red Lobster ($25 meal money included). We’ll continue on to Walnut Creek, Ohio arriving at our hotel for the next three nights, the Carlisle Inn. We’ll have time to freshen up before meeting our step-on guide and visiting the David Warther Carvings with a guided tour of the museum (featuring over 90 ivory-carved ships) and dinner (included) in the museum’s Ivory Room. The rest of the evening is yours to relax and explore the hotel.

Day 2 September 30: Our included buffet breakfast is next door to the hotel at the Der Dutchman Restaurant. We’ll board the motor coach and visit the Behalt Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center and Heini’s Cheese Chalet. We’ll have lunch (included) at the Amish women-owned Lighted Lantern, making whoopies to take home. Next we’ll have time to shop at Lehman’s Hardware. Skaneateles – Dickens Christmas

Join Lucy Baker and step back in time to enjoy the holidays the old-fashioned way at the Dickens Christmas Festival in Skaneateles, NY.

We’ll depart the Center at 10:00AM to visit the Village of Skaneateles, where you’ll have free time to enjoy the holiday decorations, shopping and lunch on your own. Actors will be strolling the streets in period costumes in addition to other special events as planned by the locals. There’s non-stop entertainment from noon until 4:00PM.

Be sure to dress warm. It is December but that adds to the holiday spirit and is the perfect excuse to stop for a hot chocolate and treat at a bakery.
