We use Hale Transportation as our travel partner given their friendly service and clean, comfortable buses. We've been using them for over five years.

Our trips are customized so they're unique and geared towards seniors.

Many of our trip ideas come from our trip patrons!

All our trips are open to the public so you don't have to be a member of the Johnson City Senior Center to join us! You also don't have to be a senior to join our trips. We've had children and grandchildren join us, depending on the trip.

If you are a member of our Center, you'll enjoy a $15 savings on any trip you're taking.

Philadelphia Flower Show

Monday, March 2, 2026

Join escort Beth Cunningham as the Johnson City Senior Center travels to the Philadelphia Flower Show on Monday, March 2. The theme this year is “Rooted: Origins of American Gardening”. It celebrates American gardening traditions for the nation’s 250th anniversary with immersive floral exhibits, plant competitions and educational experiences.

Experience the world of gardening with stunning visual displays, plant competitions, engaging speakers, artisanal crafts and curated shopping. See stunning floral and landscape installations created by top floral and landscape designers and artists from around the world.

The Flower Show is for amateurs and experts alike. There’s free educational opportunities to enhance your gardening skills and knowledge.

Explore hundreds of best-in-class plants and flowers entered in the competitive classes. This vibrant space celebrates the incredible talent of both amateur and expert gardeners, showcasing remarkable plants across a wide range of species and varieties including those that earned the judges coveted Blue Ribbons.

We’ll leave the Center at 6:30 AM, stop for a brief coffee break before arriving at the show. We’ll have time to browse the show and have lunch (on our own) before heading home. We’ll stop in Fogelsville, Pennsylvania for dinner (we’ll provide $25.00 meal money to each person).

We’ll arrive back at the Johnson City Senior Center at approximately 8:30 PM.

Per person price includes round trip motor coach, admission to the Flower Show, bus driver gratuity & $25 per person meal money.

Williamsburg and the Virginia Military Tattoo

Saturday, April 18, 2026 Wednesday, April 22, 2026

Day 1 Saturday, 4/18: Join escort, Lucy Baker, as we depart the Center at 6:30AM, stop briefly for a coffee break, then stop for lunch (on our own). We’ll arrive at Virginia Beach at approximately 5:00PM. Our hotel for the next 4 nights is the Holiday Inn & Suites. All rooms are ocean front, balcony rooms. We’ll have dinner at Captain George’s Seafood Buffet.

 

Day 2 Sunday, 4/19: Breakfast at the hotel is followed by sightseeing at the Norfolk Naval Station – Nauticus Tour, National Maritime Center and Battleship USS Wisconsin. We’ll have a buffet lunch (included) at Taste ‘N See at Murray Center. Then we’ll walk over to the Arena for the 2:30PM performance of the Military Tattoo (with premium seats). Before the show, enjoy the Hullabaloo on the plaza. Dinner tonight is on our own on the Boardwalk or at the hotel (with $25 meal money included). The rest of the evening is free time.

Day 3 Monday, 4/20: Breakfast at the hotel is followed by a guided tour of Jamestown Settlement in Williamsburg, Virginia. We’ll have lunch ($25 meal money included) in the Museum’s café area then visit the American Revolution Museum in Yorktown, Virginia for a guided tour. Tonight’s dinner is at Grand Affairs, where we’ll enjoy a Revolutionary Welcome Reception, dinner (coupons for 2 drinks are included), and entertainment by the Rondels.

Day 4 Tuesday, 4/21: Breakfast at the hotel is followed by a guided tour of Williamsburg. We’ll have free time for lunch and shopping at Merchant Square ($25 meal money included). We’ll also visit Whitley’s Peanut Shop. Our included dinner tonight is at Aberdeen Barn.

Day 5 Wednesday, 4/22: We’ll have breakfast at the hotel and leave for home. We’ll have a brief stop for coffee, then lunch on our own ($20 meal money included) at a local restaurant. We’ll stop at Meadowbrook Gourds in Carlisle, Pennsylvania returning to the Center at approximately 8:30PM.

Per person price includes round-trip transportation, hotel, most meals, admission to all venues listed above, and guide and driver gratuities.
