Trip and Travel Policy 2023

Johnson City Senior Center

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING NOTICE AND REFER TO THIS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR.

 

THE JOHNSON CITY SENIOR CENTER HAS SOME CHANGES TO OUR TRIP POLICY FOR THE YEAR 2023 DUE TO CONSTANT COVID-19 SITUATION.

THE FOLLOWING ARE THE CHANGES THAT HAVE BEEN MADE:

     · THERE WILL BE NO TRIP FAIR THIS YEAR.  A SPECIAL TRIP NEWSLETTER WILL BE PRINTED.

     · ALL TRIPS WILL BE POSTED ON OUR WEBSITE  https://www.johnsoncityseniorcenter.org  AND IN OUR NEWSLETTERS.

     · PAYMENTS FOR TRIPS WILL ONLY BE VIA CHECK, CASH OR MONEY ORDER. NO CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

All trips require reservations and are open to the public.   Trips are open to all ages.

REGISTERING FOR TRIPS:  

Current address must be given with your telephone number.  ****NOTICE: IF EITHER ADDRESS OR PHONE NUMBER CHANGE AFTER YOU REGISTER, PLEASE CONTACT THE SENIOR CENTER, AS WE NEED TO CONTACT YOU BEFORE THE TRIP.

DAY TRIP  PAYMENT:                                                                                  

Payment for day trips may be made in full or installments, with a $50 deposit due at registration. The remainder must be paid in full within SIX WEEKS prior to the trip.  Abuse of this policy may result in cancellation of his or her reservations.    

 

OVERNIGHT TRIP PAYMENT: 

Payment for overnight trips require a deposit of $100.  Installments may be made with full payment due SIX WEEKS prior to the trip.  Insurance is highly recommended and due at the time of deposit.

TRIP CANCELLATION BY THE CENTER:

Our policy states there has to be a minimum 25 people, with a few exceptions.  If we need to cancel a trip, we will refund all monies to those registered.  We will give as much advance notice of cancellations as we can.  Please sign up early to avoid cancellation of trips.  

REFUNDS: Refunds will be issued if you cancel prior to final payment date.  No refunds will be issued after the final  payment date.  After the final payment date, a refund for a cancellation will be given if a replacement can be found.  Please be advised that hotels, restaurants and tour companies, etc. require non refundable deposits.   

 

****SPECIAL NEEDS:  When signing up for a trip, if you have special needs, please inform the trip committee.  Give them the name of the person that is traveling and assisting you.  If your trip involves a hotel room, request a special room in the hotel****

 

 SEATING: Boarding will begin 15 minutes prior to departure time.  If you are not present when your name is called, you must check in with escort before boarding the bus. There are no assigned seats on the bus.  Names are called in the order of registration.  If a couple or friends are traveling together, please sit together until all passengers board; and if there are empty seats, you may move.  Please be aware, if there is a full bus and you are traveling alone, you might  be asked to share a seat with someone.

 

GRATUITIES: Gratuities for the driver are included in total price for both day and overnight trips. When applicable, step-on-guide gratuities are included in both overnight and day trips.

Gratuities for meal servers are at your discretion. 

PARKING: Please park your car in the parking lot furthest from the building so that Center participants have access to the building.  This includes handicapped parking.

 

ESCORTS:  All trips with the Johnson City Senior Center will be escorted by volunteers.
