LGBTQ+ Senior Social Hour
Wednesday, December 18, 3:00 – 4:00PM
Sponsored by Broome County Office for Aging
This social group hopes to establish a safe space to provide helpful, positive and supportive social interactions amongst local LGBTQ+ older adults.
They also aim to promote dignity, caring and problem solving within the community by collaborating with local agencies in hopes of providing resources unique to the needs of the group.
Light refreshments and homemade cookies will be available. The group is facilitated by Robert Hoover, local artist, retired magazine industry professional and Office for Aging Advisory Board Member.

Alzheimer's Association – Dementia Caregiver Support Group

The Alzheimer's Association is now offering a Dementia Caregiver Support Group that meets the third Wednesday of every month in the Library at our Center. The group is for caregivers of people living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.
This support groups offers a way to:
- Develop a support system.
- Exchange practical information on challenges and possible solutions.
- Talk through issues and ways of coping.
- Share feelings, needs and concerns.
- Learn about community resources.
