Begin the day at the Adirondack Museum

The Adirondack Museum believes in the power of history to ignite the imagination, stimulate thought and shape the future. The collections reflect stories of life, work and play in the Adirondack Park and northern New York State. The six million acres of lakes and forests, towns and villages that are the Adirondack Park surround the Adirondack Museum at Blue Mountain Lake, New York. The history of the Adirondack Park — the place and its people — is at the heart of the museum's exhibits and  programs. The museum is a campus-like setting of more than 32 acres with 22 engaging indoor and outdoor exhibits, historic buildings, incredible collections, great gardens, and magnificent views. Enjoy lunch on your own.

Then enjoy the beauty of Great Camp Sagamore

Two-hour guided tours begin with a DVD presentation that gives an overview of Adirondack Park history and  introduces you to W.W. Durant who built three Landmark camps at Raquette Lake in the Gilded Age. The walking tour interprets the history of the workers who built and maintained the camp for the Vanderbilts, including the famous Main Lodge and the beautiful dining hall overlooking Sagamore Lake.

Relax for a dinner on the Raquette Lake Cruise

See the elaborate camps of industrial giants Huntington and Carnegie from the 60-foot double-deck vessel, W.W. Durant. Enjoy lunch on this scenic cruise.

We will depart from the center at 6 am and return home at 10 pm.

There will be a quick breakfast stop on your own.
